  2. nds-bootstrap

nds-bootstrap es una aplicación que permite el uso de homebrew de Nintendo DS/DSi y roms a través de la tarjeta SD en Nintendo DSi/3DS, en lugar de utilizar emuladores o flascarts.
    Frontends
Para utilizar nds-bootstrap, necesitas utilizar un frontend. Estas son las tres posibilidades:
TWiLight Menu++ (el más recomendado y actualizado) is an open-source DSi Menu upgrade/replacement for DS/DSi/3DS. TWLoader is a discontinued 3DS frontend. nds-hb-menu is a 3DS frontend based off the Nintendo DSi homebrew menu.

    Quick start guide
These short instructions apply to all users who have boot9strap and Luma3DS installed (Luma3DS set up with standard paths), which will be the majority of all GodMode9 users. Here's how to set it up quickly:
Rename GodMode9.firm (from the release archive) to X_GodMode9.firm (change X to the button of your choice) and put it into sd:/luma/payloads/ Copy the gm9 folder from the release archive to your SD card. Then, get good versions of seeddb.bin and encTitleKeys.bin from somewhere (don't ask me!) and put these two files into sd:/gm9/support (optional but recommended for full functionality). It is also recommended you setup the RTC clock if you're running GodMode9 for the first time. Find the option via HOME button -> More.... Also keep in mind that you should fix your system OS clock afterwards. Helpful hint #1: Go here for step by steps on doing some common tasks in GodMode9. Especially users coming from Decrypt9WIP or Hourglass9 may find this to be helpful. Helpful hint #2: Never unlock the red write permission level unless you know exactly what you're doing. You will notice that prompt when it comes up, it features a completely red screen. It is recommended you stay on the yellow permission level or below at all times to be completely safe. Also read more on the write permissions system below. You may now run GodMode9 via holding the X Button (or any other button you chose) at startup. See below for a list of stuff you can do with it.
    Buttons in GodMode9
GodMode9 is designed to be intuitive, buttons leading to the results you'd expect. However, some stuff may not be obvious at first glance. So, here's a quick, incomplete rundown of what each button / button combo does.
<A> button: The <A> button is the 'confirm' / 'choose' button. It confirms prompts and selects entries in menus. In the main file view, it pulls up a submenu for files and opens directories (use <R+A> on directories for a submenu, also including the invaluable title search). In the hexviewer, <A> switches into edit mode. <B> button: The <B> button is the 'cancel' / 'return' button. Use it to leave menus without action, hold it on file operations to cancel said file operations. <X> button: In the main file view, the <X> button deletes (marked) files. With <R+X> files are renamed. <Y> button: In the main file view, the <Y> button copies and pastes files. With <R+Y> you can create folders and dummy files. <L> button: The <L> button is the 'mark' button. Use it with <LEFT> / <RIGHT> to mark / unmark all files in a folder, hold it and use <UP> / <DOWN> to select multiple files. <R> button: The <R> button is the 'switch' button. It switches buttons to their secondary function. Notable exceptions are <R+L> for a screenshot (works almost anywhere), <R+LEFT> / <R+RIGHT> to switch panes and <R+DOWN> to reload the file listing. <START> button: Use the <START> button to reboot from GodMode9. Use <R+START> to poweroff your 3DS. <SELECT> button: The <SELECT> button clears or restores the clipboard (depending on if it's empty or not). <HOME> button: The <HOME> button enters the HOME menu, including the scripts / payloads submenus, options for formatting the SD, setting the RTC, and more. <R+UP> combo: This little known keycombo, when held at startup, pauses the GodMode9 boot so that you can stare at the splash screen for a little longer. <R+LEFT> combo: If you have installed GodMode9 as your bootloader, this keycombo enters the bootmenu. Hold on startup! If you built GodMode9 as SALTMODE and have it as a bootloader, the keycombo is simply the <START> button. Aplicación creada por d0k3.

  9. 3DS Homebrew Menu

Use the D-Pad, Circle Pad or the touchscreen to select an application, and press A or touch it again to start it. Use the C-Stick alternatively on New 3DS to scroll the list of applications.
On certain entrypoints (ninjhax 1.x and hax 2.x), it is not possible to go back to the 3DS HOME menu using the HOME button. As an alternative, you can press the START button where you can reboot your console or (in the case of hax 2.x) relaunch HOME menu.
hbmenu starts in the sdmc:/3ds/ directory for applications and it will look for 3dsx files inside it. You can navigate the directory tree and open/browse folders as you would expect. Old style application bundle folders are also detected, however this functionality may be removed in the future.
Here is an example directory structure that hbmenu will have no trouble recognizing:
sdmc:/ 3ds/ games/ Hermes.3dsx cubemadness.3dsx 3dscraft.3dsx blargSNES.3dsx gameyob.3dsx 3dnes.3dsx ftpd.3dsx Themely.3dsx If hbmenu does not find an icon file (either embedded in the executable or provided separately) to associate with a given 3dsx, it will display a default icon and the path to the executable as a fallback.
hbmenu also allows you to create "shortcuts" which are xml files containing a path to a 3dsx file and optional arguments to pass to the .3dsx. This file can also include a path to icon data as well as name, description and author text using tags as follows:
<shortcut> <executable>The path to the 3dsx file goes here.</executable> <icon>path to smdh icon data</icon> <arg>Place arguments to be passed to 3dsx here.</arg> <name>Name to display</name> <description>Description of homebrew app</description> <author>Name of the author</author> </shortcut> Arguments are space or tab separated but can use single or double quotes to contain whitespace.
Name, description and author will be read from the .3dsx if it has embedded SMDH data or from the supplied icon path. The fields in the xml file will then override their respective entries.
You should not hotswap the SD card while hbmenu is running since it compromises the 3DS OS's stability amongst other things. It is recommended that you instead use a file transfer homebrew application such as ftpd to transfer files without rebooting.
    Technical notes
hbmenu does all its rendering in hardware thanks to the citro3d library. The 3DS system font is also used to render all text.
hbmenu uses some funky mechanisms to launch 3dsx files. If you're interested in launching 3dsx files from your own application, you should look here; although these mechanisms may change in the future.
    Netloader
hbmenu contains support for the 3dslink protocol, which allows you to remotely load applications. Press Y to activate as usual then run 3dslink <3dsxfile> if your network can cope with UDP broadcast messages. If 3dslink says 3DS not found then you can use -a <ip address> to tell it where to send the file.
All the other arguments you give 3dslink will be passed as arguments to the launched 3dsx file. You can also specify argv[0] with -0 <argument> which is useful for setting the current working directory if you already have data files in a particular place, i.e. 3dslink myfile.3dsx -0 sdmc:/3ds/mydata/
    3dslink is provided with devkitARM.

  10. beeShop

    GUI for 3DS Network Installing.

    How to use:
NOTE: Make sure your 3DS and the computer you're using beeShop on are on the same network if you're using the first or second install method. If they aren't, you won't be able to send the files/URLs over to your 3DS.
Download & extract the latest beeShop release (preferrably into a separate folder). Get ahold of a database file (.CSV) in format composed of Name,URL (either made by yourself or from other sources) and put it somewhere easily accessible. On your 3DS, open FBI > Remote Install > "Receive URL's over the Network" and note down the IP of your 3DS (don't close FBI after doing this). Launch beeShop, and click on the Settings button to open the Settings menu. You can configure lots of stuff in there, but right now, you need to press on the Select button on the top right hand corner. This will open a file selection dialog. Select a database (.CSV) file whose values should be in this format: Name,URL. Then, write the IP Address of your 3DS in the text box below IP:, select your preferred install method, and finally click on Save. beeShop should ask you to restart. Allow it. If your selected install method is Download & Install on 3DS:
Make sure your 3DS is in FBI > Remote Install > Receive URLs over the Network. Select an entry of your choice from the list and click on Install. If everything went right, beeShop should send the download link for the selected entry to FBI, which will ask you to install. Press A to do so. NOTE: beeShop will stay on Status: Installing while your 3DS is downloading in FBI.
If your selected install method is Download on PC, install on 3DS:
Make sure your 3DS is in FBI > Remote Install > Receive URLs over the Network. Select an entry of your choice from the list and click on Download. The selected entry will now be downloaded and a message box will show (entry) was successfully downloaded. once it's done. Now, click on the Install button and choose the file (.CIA) that was downloaded (it will be located in the same directory where beeShop.exe is located). This will send the file to FBI, which will ask you whether you want to install or not on your 3DS. Press A to install.
If your selected install method is custom-install: WARNING: custom-install is intended for advanced users only. Damage and or corruption may occur in some cases. Make sure you have a backup of your SD card just in case. You'll get shown this exact same warning when beeShop starts with custom-install as the selected install method.
Open the settings menu and click on the Configure custom-install button. This will open yet another window where you can specify the different files/paths needed for custom-install. Here's what you need: The SD card content encryption key from your 3DS (movable.sed) The ARM9 Bootrom of your 3DS (boot9.bin) How to dump various 3DS files A seed database for games that require seeds to function (seeddb.bin) (required, beeShop won't launch custom-install without this) Specify a valid drive letter in the first text box (D:/ for example). Select your movable.sed file in the second text box. Select your boot9.bin file in the third text box. Select the seeddb.bin in the fourth text box.
    Click on save.
Get CIAs (app files). These must be sourced by yourself or by using the second install method. Make sure you have your SD card inserted into your computer. (and that you have the correct drive letter specified in the custom-install settings). On the main window, click on Install, which will open a file selection dialog. Select a .CIA file. If you have checked Show custom-install command line window, that window will open so you can see what's happening. Once it finished installing, you have to use custom-install-finalize on your 3DS to install a ticket for the installed title. Credits:

Downloads can be found on the official website, in the [Downloads][downloads] section. The source code can be found on [GitHub][source].
    Controls
    --------
Controls are configurable in the settings menu. Many game controllers should be automatically mapped by default. The default keyboard controls are as follows:

    - **B**: Z
    - **L**: A
    - **R**: S
    - **Start**: Enter
    - **Select**: Backspace
    Compiling
    ---------
Compiling requires using CMake 2.8.11 or newer. GCC and Clang are both known to work to compile mGBA, but Visual Studio 2013 and older are known not to work. Support for Visual Studio 2015 and newer is coming soon. To use CMake to build on a Unix-based system, the recommended commands are as follows:
        mkdir build
        cd build
        cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:PATH=/usr ..
        make
        sudo make install
This will build and install mGBA into `/usr/bin` and `/usr/lib`. Dependencies that are installed will be automatically detected, and features that are disabled if the dependencies are not found will be shown after running the `cmake` command after warnings about being unable to find them.
If you are on macOS, the steps are a little different. Assuming you are using the homebrew package manager, the recommended commands to obtain the dependencies and build are:
brew install cmake ffmpeg imagemagick libzip qt5 sdl2 libedit pkg-config
        mkdir build
        cd build
        cmake -DCMAKE_PREFIX_PATH=`brew --prefix qt5` ..
        make
Note that you should not do a `make install` on macOS, as it will not work properly.
    #### Windows developer building
To build on Windows for development, using MSYS2 is recommended. Follow the installation steps found on their [website](https://msys2.github.io). Make sure you're running the 32-bit version ("MSYS2 MinGW 32-bit") (or the 64-bit version "MSYS2 MinGW 64-bit" if you want to build for x86_64) and run this additional command (including the braces) to install the needed dependencies (please note that this involves downloading over 1100MiB of packages, so it will take a long time):
    For x86 (32 bit) builds:
        pacman -Sy base-devel git mingw-w64-i686-{cmake,ffmpeg,gcc,gdb,imagemagick,libelf,libepoxy,libzip,pkg-config,qt5,SDL2,ntldd-git}
    For x86_64 (64 bit) builds:
        pacman -Sy base-devel git mingw-w64-x86_64-{cmake,ffmpeg,gcc,gdb,imagemagick,libelf,libepoxy,libzip,pkg-config,qt5,SDL2,ntldd-git}
Check out the source code by running this command:
        git clone https://github.com/mgba-emu/mgba.git
Then finally build it by running these commands:
        cd mgba
        mkdir build
        cd build
        cmake .. -G "MSYS Makefiles"
        make
Please note that this build of mGBA for Windows is not suitable for distribution, due to the scattering of DLLs it needs to run, but is perfect for development. However, if distributing such a build is desired (e.g. for testing on machines that don't have the MSYS2 environment installed), running `cpack -G ZIP` will prepare a zip file with all of the necessary DLLs.
    ### Dependencies
mGBA has no hard dependencies, however, the following optional dependencies are required for specific features. The features will be disabled if the dependencies can't be found.
    - Qt 5: for the GUI frontend. Qt Multimedia or SDL are required for audio.
    - SDL: for a more basic frontend and gamepad support in the Qt frontend. SDL 2 is recommended, but 1.2 is supported.
    - zlib and libpng: for screenshot support and savestate-in-PNG support.
    - libedit: for command-line debugger support.
    - ffmpeg or libav: for video recording.
    - libzip or zlib: for loading ROMs stored in zip files.
    - ImageMagick: for GIF recording.
    - SQLite3: for game databases.
    - libelf: for ELF loading.
SQLite3, libpng, and zlib are included with the emulator, so they do not need to be externally compiled first.
    Footnotes
    ---------
<a name="missing">[1]</a> Currently missing features are
    - OBJ window for modes 3, 4 and 5 ([Bug #5](http://mgba.io/b/5))
    - Mosaic for transformed OBJs ([Bug #9](http://mgba.io/b/9))
<a name="flashdetect">[2]</a> Flash memory size detection does not work in some cases. These can be configured at runtime, but filing a bug is recommended if such a case is encountered.
<a name="osxver">[3]</a> 10.7 is only needed for the Qt port. The SDL port is known to work on 10.5, and may work on older.

  15. Luma Installer

This is a tool designed to assist in the installation of Luma3DS onto a 3DS system.
It comes with usage instructions built in.
It is designed for people who either are unsure of where to copy files on the SDCard, or people who just want to save time.
Really all it does is organize your Homebrew and games (CIA files) into a tidy list, allowing you to choose what items to install, and push one button to do so. I find it VERY handy, as I install a lot of CFW on friends consoles, and this makes the process MUCH faster and easier.
IT WILL REQUIRE AN NTRBOOT CAPABLE R4 CARD!
Anemone was created by Astronautlevel, credit to him for his work.
Luma was created by AuroraWright, credit to him for his work.
FBI was created by Steveice10, Credit to him for his work.
    Instructions:
Load the Installer, choose the SD card location, and any Homebrew/Games you want installed, and hit Start.
This will install the first "Package" on the SD card, You will then need to follow the directions on the website provided in the Kit from last time.
How to Add Games and Homebrew:
You can choose to look for Games/Homebrew in any folder you choose, or search for *.CIA files in order to locate the Installation Directory.
As standard, Homebrew Apps will be in the APPS folder, Games will be in the GAMES folder
The program reads the FOLDER NAME in order to populate the list, so games must be stored like so
    EG:
    C:\Games\GameName\file.cia
Homebrew Apps must be stored Accordingly
    C:\Apps\AppName\cias\File.Cia

Some homebrew apps contain folders that are needed to run. in these cases copy the folders to "3ds" folder
    Eg:
    C:\Apps\Appname\3ds\Put Folders Here

If you follow these instructions, the program will Automatically include any Games/Homebrew you put in these folders.
    by StatusQuo.
  16. PS1 Forwarder Creator

With this tool you'll be able to make independent Retroarch cias for your favorite PS1 games using the PCSX-Rearmed core without having to install Retroarch or anything besides the generated cia.
    Usage:
Only PBP files are supported, there are some emulator options you can change.
A bios is not required, but is highly recommended.
To use a bios you need to copy the bios file in the same folder as this program.
    Compatible bios files are:
    psxonpsp660.bin
    scph101.bin
    scph5501.bin
    scph7001.bin
    scph1001.bin
If you copy more than one bios file, the previous list shows the priority order.
If you enable the second memory card this will be created in the sdmc:/retroarch/forwarders folder and will be shared among the games, this is useful for games that can use other games save files (like Resident Evil 2 if you prefer to have the Leon and Claire discs separated).
    Key mapping:
The buttons are assigned as follow by default, they can be changed (controller type cannot be changed and still needs to be set in the creator):
    PS1 Cross = 3DS B
    PS1 Circle = 3DS A
    PS1 Square = 3DS Y
    PS1 Triangle = 3DS X
    PS1 L1 = 3DS L
    PS1 R1 = 3DS R
    PS1 L2 = 3DS ZL
    PS1 R2 = 3DS ZR
    PS1 L3 = 3DS Left Touch
    PS1 R3 = 3DS Right Touch
    PS1 Start = 3DS Start
    PS1 Select = 3DS Select
The 3DS touchscreen contains 2 extra buttons at the top left and top right, if you touch top center both touch buttons will be pressed at the same time.
You can enable the option Show Touchscreen buttons in the creator to show an overlay at the screen.
    FAQ:
    Q: Why only PBP?
A: PBP files are compressed and can store more than 1 disc. CHD support is planned, but it lacks multidisc support.
Q: How do I create PBP files?
A: You can use PSX2PSP or POPSConv, the internet is full of tutorials about how to use those programs. POPSConv can't create multidisc PBP files though.
Q: How do I change discs?
A: Tap the touchscreen to open the emulator menu and go to the Change Disc option, once there open the lid, change the disc number and close the lid.
Q: Hey, the Change Disc option isn't there.
A: If the option is missing then the PBP you used only has a single disc.
Q: What is the difference between analog and dualshock?
A: analog refers to the PlayStation Analog Joystick (SCPH-1110) or the Dual Analog Controller (SCPH-1150 or SCPH-1180) with the green led lit (Flighstick mode), while dualshock refers to the DualShock Controller (SCPH-1200) or the Dual Analog Controller with the red led lit.
Q: The option to change controller type is missing in the Controls menu.
A: That can only be changed in the creator.
    Q: <insert game name> doesn't run well.
A: Not every game is gonna run full speed, refer to this thread for the compatibility list and advice about how to get better performance.
Q: The game doesn't boot at all and kicks me back to the home menu.
A: Official PBP's from PSN don't work. Try creating your own PBP's.
    Changelog:
    v1.7
fixed psxonpsp660.bin bios detection. and the hle bios too. adjusted smdh flags to hide the "save backup data" option on the 3ds menu as it isn't supported. 17. Checkpoint (Nintendo 3DS)

A fast and simple homebrew save manager for 3DS written in C++.
    Why use Checkpoint?
Checkpoint is created following ideas of simplicity and efficiency. The UI has been designed to condense as many options as possible, while keeping it simple to work with.
Moreover, Checkpoint is extremely lightweight - while being packaged with a nice graphic user interface - and is built using the most recent libraries available.
Checkpoint for 3DS natively supports 3DS and DS cartridges, digital standard titles and demo titles. It also automatically checks and filters homebrew titles which may not have a save archive to backup or restore, which is done without an external title list and filters. For this reason, Checkpoint doesn't need constant user maintenance to retain full functionality.
Checkpoint for Switch natively supports NAND saves for the titles you have played. Title information are loaded automatically.

    Usage
You can use Checkpoint for 3DS with both cfw and Rosalina-based Homebrew Launchers. *hax-based Homebrew Launchers are not supported by Checkpoint.
Checkpoint for Switch runs on homebrew launcher. Make sure you're running up-to-date payloads.
The first launch of the 3DS version will take considerably longer than usual (usually 1-2 minutes depending on how many titles you have installed), due to the working directories being created - Checkpoint will be significatively faster upon launch from then on.
You can scroll between the title list with the DPAD/LR and target a title with A when the selector is on it. Now, you can use the DPAD or the touchscreen to select a target backup to restore/overwrite.
    Working path
Checkpoint relies on the following folders to store the files it generates. Note that all the working directories are automatically generated on first launch (or when Checkpoint finds a new title that doesn't have a working directory yet).
sdmc:/3ds/Checkpoint: root path sdmc:/3ds/Checkpoint/config.json: custom configuration file sdmc:/3ds/Checkpoint/saves/<unique id> <game title>: root path for all the save backups for a generic game sdmc:/3ds/Checkpoint/extdata/<unique id> <game title>: root path for all the extdata backups for a generic game Configuration file
You can add and toggle features to Checkpoint for 3DS by editing the config.json configuration file.Sample configuration file:
    {   "filter": [     "0x000400000011C400",     "0x000400000014F100"   ],   "favorites": [     "0x000400000011C400"   ],   "additional_save_folders": {     "0x00040000001B5000": {       "folders": [         "/3ds/mySaves/1B50",         "/moreSaves"       ]     },     "0x00040000001B5100": {       "folders": [         "/3ds/PKSM/backups"       ]     }   },   "additional_extdata_folders": {   },   "nand_saves": true,   "version": 2 }

  19. Wumiibo

  20. 3DShell

    3DShell (pronounced 3D-Shell) - is a multi-purpose file manager GUI for the Nintendo 3DS.
The program is currently in its early stages and lacks many features that are currently in development. More information will be given once the program matures.
This program's design elements are clearly inspired by CyanogenMod's built in file manager, and so I take no credit for that.
    Current features:
Storage bar (at the very top, just beneath the current working directory). Precise battery percentage using mcu::hwc Creating new folders Renaming files/folders File/folder deletion Copy/Cut files and folders Multi-select items for delete/cut/copy (using Y button) FTP server (Press select or tap the ftp icon to toggle) Image preview (If the image is around 400 * 480 which is the size of both screens, the image will be split in half and displayed. Have a look at the screenshots below). Support for the following image formats. PNG, JPG, GIF[un-animated], TGA (untested ->) HDR, PIC, PNM, PSD) Zip file extraction. Searching for directories (allows you to quickly visit a directory by clicking the search icon on the top right (bottom screen).) File properties - lets you view info on current file/folder. Screenshots - Press (L + R) -> (/screenshots/Screenshot_YearMonthDay-Num.bmp) Fast scroll - Use analog stick File's time-stamp Browsing CTRNAND MP3, vorbis (ogg), flac and wav playback support. (All thanks to deltabeard/MaK11-12) Dir list Sorting (alphabetical - ascending, alphabetical - descending, size - largest to smallest, and size - smallest to largest) Online updater (nightly/releases) Credits:
deltabeard/MaK11-12 for sound support. mtheall for ftpd. Steveice10 for allowing me to use his screen.c C3D code as a template to build and make modifications on. preetisketch for the banner. FrozenFire for the boot logo.
  21. HiyaCFW-Helper

In order to make things easier for me, and because I don't have Windows, I edited the HiyaCFW Helper Python script by jerbear64 and LmN in order to add a graphical user interface to it.
    What it does:
Allows you to browse for your NAND backup, no need to place it at the same folder. Shows the option to choose the output destination, which should be a (preferably empty) FAT formatted SD card or any other folder. Downloads the latest HiyaCFW release and decompress it. Autodetects the console region from the NAND dump, downloads and decrypts its v512 launcher. Creates the patched 00000002.app and bootloader.nds for the custom firmware. Uses your platform's twltool (binaries for Linux and MacOS included) to decrypt the NAND. Mounts the decrypted NAND (OSFMount required for Windows) and extracts it to the chosen output destination. Installs the HiyaCFW and the patched files on the chosen output destination. (Optional) installs the latest release of TWiLightMenu++ (or any of the previous releases of it or DSiMenu++ or SRLoader placed at the same folder as the helper) on the chosen output destination. NAND mode:
Clicking on the integrated circuit button will give you a NAND mode, where you can uninstall unlaunch or install its v1.4 stable release, remove the No$GBA footer or add it. Recommended only for those with a hardmod.

  22. Gateway 3DS Ultra Firmware

We are back again with another quick update! Here's what's new:
Latest emunand support (10.4) for both o3ds and n3ds In-game menu fixed for certain games (Centipede) SAV backup and restore added again for CIA games and SaveDataFiler L button hex and decimal switch too fast fixed in exact cheat search With the new firmware update we would like to STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST UPDATING your sysnand to a version higher than 10.3 (10.4 or higher),
as we will not be able to support sysnand firmware version 10.4 or higher anytime soon.
Currently there exist homebrew methods to downgrade from 10.3 to 9.2, allowing you to use your Gateway card already.
But the downgrade method is not recommended as it is error prone, dangerous and can lead to bricking.
We would like to provide our users with a more safe method, and this is one of the things we are working on.
This means you CANNOT upgrade past 10.3, as you will miss the boat as they say.
That's it for now, and as always, ENJOY!
    HOW TO USE CHEATS
    =================
Simply copy the folder "cheats" into the root of your microSD card that will go into the Gateway RED card. Each file inside the cheats folder will be of the format <TitleID>.txt where TitleID is the title id of the game. Boot into Gateway mode, and press SELECT to make the Gateway game selection menu appear. Select your game and then press Y to enter cheat mode. Enable the cheats you want and then press START to load the game.
    CHEAT CODE FORMAT

  23. b9sTool

WARNING: Never, under any circumstance, use this homebrew in conjunction with a youtube/video guide of any kind! General Info
This app only writes to FIRM0, not FIRM1, so it should be safe given your FIRM1 is not corrupt or a9lh'd. Never use this on anything but 3DS FIRM 11.8.X-YZ. NEVER use this if arm9loaderhax or sighax is installed (on any firmware)! The result will be a brick! Compiling:
Just supply the current decrypted FIRMs for both new/old 3ds and put them in the firm_new and firm_old directories respectively. Then place the newest boot9strap.firm payload in the payload directory. Then compile with make FIRM_INFO="11.8 only" or whatever is actually the firmware range of the current native firm. The user does not have to supply any extra files like in previous versions. Needs the latest libfat version. Important b9sTool 5.X.X differences to 4.X.X
    BACKUP.bin:
This has been removed. This feature was made in the interest of safety, but the realization that the update trick can reliably restore corrupted firms made it redundant.
It was also a pain in the ass.
      xorpad_0123ABCD.bin
This is dumped to your boot9strap folder when b9s is installed. It isn't used now but may be useful in the future. Don't delete it.
The hex number in the filename is the first 4 bytes of the file's SHA1.
      Cycling firm types:
When you install boot9strap multiple times, the standard behavior is that it will cycle between b9s and stock firm.
Don't count on this though, it's just a property of xoring operations and really isn't intended.
It is recommended you only install boot9strap once.
      Firmware info:
4.0.1 - 5.0.0 is for firmware 11.8 ONLY (always check the firmware in the app menu to be sure as this can change as new firmwares are released!) 4.0.0 is for firmwares 11.4 to 11.7 ONLY Be careful using b9sTool between firmware updates - only use b9sTool on the firmware it's intended for.
