  1. ScummVM PSP

ScummVM is a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games, provided you already have their data files. The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the game, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed!
Originally it was designed to run LucasArts' SCUMM games, such as Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle or Sam and Max. SCUMM stands for 'Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion', which was the first game for which LucasArts designed this system. And much later it gave its name to ScummVM ('VM' meaning Virtual Machine).
Over time support for a lot of non-SCUMM games has been added, and ScummVM now also supports many of Sierra's AGI and SCI games (such as King's Quest 1-6, Space Quest 1-5, ...), Discworld 1 and 2, Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2, Beneath A Steel Sky, Lure of the Temptress, Broken Sword I and II, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Gobliiins 1-3, The Legend of Kyrandia series, many of Humongous Entertainment's children's SCUMM games (including Freddi Fish and Putt Putt games) and many more. You can find a full list with details on which adventures are supported and how well on the compatibility page. ScummVM is continually improving, so check back often.
  2. SDLPoP for PS Vita

An open-source port of Prince of Persia, based on the disassembly of the DOS version.

  3. Sharpscale

Sharpscale plugin + config app set was created by cuevavirus to allow PS VITA and PS TV to run in High Definition (HD).

Sharpscale is a PSTV and PS Vita plugin that changes the framebuffer to display scaling method to provide a cleaner and sharper image.

This plugin is the only method to obtain native resolution video capture with accurate colours at 60fps. A hardware capture kit for the Vita was previously available from Japan for $450 USD, but due to changes in Japanese laws, this is no longer available.

This is the first time in history a Vita nuova bounty organised by Rinnegamante has been filled. I want to thank the donors ScHlAuChii, eleriaqueen, mansjg, TG, as well as the excellent members of CBPS for the support they have provided.

I also want to thank rinne for diligently updating each bounty issue with the bounty total whenever someone else donated.

    RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION:
Use the latest version of AutoPlugin 2 to install the plugin + config set on your homebrew enabled PS VITA or PS TV. by cuevavirus.
  4. Shortcuts Enhancer

Simple app to enhance the shortcuts on the PS Vita index menu.
Based on QuickLaunch Installer by 1upus and IndexMenuMaker by Moody_Blues.
With this app, you can create custom images linked to any PS Vita app/game for the shortcuts shown in the PS Vita index menu, also, you can select between the icon or the startup image of your app/game to create the shrotcut preview.
When creating the preview images, you can choose between a bunch of colorfull backgrounds (when icon0 is selected, thanks to moody b) to make your shortcuts look the way you want them.
    Controls are as follows:
The front touch pad is enabled in this app for some functions :)
Up/Down (Dir Pad)Scroll trough game/app list. Right/Left (Dir Pad)Change preview background. R/L or Touch Pad (Or tap the preview highlight it)Switch shortcut preview. Square Switch between Icon0/Startup/Custom image. Accept Set the selected preview to appear in the index menu (restart required). Triangle Set all 3 previews to appear in the index menu (restart required). SELECT or Touch Pad (Or double tap at the bottom of the screen) To show controls menu START Go back to Livearea (when doing changes a restart is needed for changes to take effect). Just in case you want to create your own images with PS or any other image editor, all you have to do is resize them to 282*108, rename them to the game id in upper case letters, save them as png format and place them in the following path
    ux0:data/SHORTCUTS/1MENUVITA.PNG (as an example XD)
Also, if you want to use your own font for the previews you can place your font file at
    ux0:data/SHORTCUTS/font/
  5. taiHEN

taiHEN is a CFW framework for PS Vita™. When loaded with a kernel exploit, it acts as a common substrate for patching the system. taiHEN provides three main facilities:
It disables code signature checks to allow unsigned executables. It exposes kernel peek/poke syscalls to user applications and allows loading of kernel modules. Most importantly, it provides an API for hooking and replacing functions based off of substitute. The last point means that developers can add custom patches to kernel, system applications, and games alike.
  6. TF Card Plugin Tool

TF Card Plugin Tool is an excellent tool developed with the OneLua Team interpreter that allows you to simplify the installation and management of the drivers of the SD2VITA adapter and of the official PSVITA memory in the ux0: / uma0 paths The new version incorporates a file manager, FTP connection, adds compatibility with PSTV and is fully compatible with HENkaku Ensō 3.65,h-encore² 3.71/3.72.

  7. Trinity Jailbreak

Trinity is the third public jailbreak for the PS Vita, which supports the latest firmwares 3.69 and 3.70. The exploit chain consists of three stages: the MIPS Kernel Exploit, the PSP Emulator Escape and the ARM Kernel Exploit.
    Requirements
Your device must be on firmware 3.69 or 3.70. If you're on a lower firmware, please use h-encore instead. If your device is a phat OLED model, you need a Memory Card in order to install. There's no need for a Memory Card on Slim/PS TV models, since they already provide an Internal Storage. Your device must be able to access the PlayStation Store. If your device region is mainland China (model PCH-2009) then this exploit may not available for you, since this model is region locked to only accept mainland China PSN accounts to login and can only access mainland China PS Store, which doesn't contain any PSP games at all. Preparation
If you have already done the preparation, you can skip this part and go to the Installation section.
If you're on firmware 3.69, you have two options:
Either update to firmware 3.70 (go to Settings → System Update). Or set DNS to 212.47.229.76 (go to Settings → Network → Wi-Fi Settings → Your access point → Advanced Settings and set DNS Settings to Manual and Primary DNS to 212.47.229.76). Register a PSN account if you don't have one yet (note that only 3 devices can be activated using the same account).
Download and install any PSP/minis game (PS Vita or PS one Classics do not work). There are demos in most regions (if you know a title that is not listed here, please let me know):
EU/UK: Ape Quest NA/SG: LocoRoco Midnight Carnival JP: YS seven Unfortunately, if you can't find a demo in your region, you must either buy any PSP/minis game, or register a new PSN account in one of the regions listed above.
Please make sure that your demo is a PSP/minis game. To verify, please launch the game and hold the PS button for a while. Then a quick menu should come up with the Settings option, where you can set bilinear filter, etc. If this option is not there, you've likely downloaded the wrong game. For help, please consider watching some youtube tutorials and see how a PSP game should look like.
    Installation
Download and install qcma and psvimgtools.
Start qcma and within the qcma settings set the option Use this version for updates to FW 0.00 (Always up-to-date) to spoof the System Software check.
Launch Content Manager on your PS Vita and connect it to your computer, where you then need to select PS Vita System -> PC, and after that you select Applications. Finally select PSP™/Other and click on the game that you want to turn into the Trinity exploit. If you see an error message about System Software, you should simply reboot your device to solve it (if this doesn't solve, then put your device into airplane mode and reboot). If this does still not work, then alternatively set DNS to 212.47.229.76 to block updates.
Transfer the game over to your computer by clicking on Copy on your PS Vita. After copying, you go to the folder /Documents/PS Vita/PGAME/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/YYYYZZZZZ on your computer, where xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is some string corresponding to your account ID and YYYYZZZZZ is the title id of the game that you've just copied over. You can look at the image at YYYYZZZZZ/sce_sys/icon0.png to verify that it is indeed your chosen game. Furthermore, the YYYYZZZZZ folder should contain these folders: game, license and sce_sys.
Before you attempt to modify the backup, you should make a copy of it. Just copy YYYYZZZZZ somewhere else, such that if you fail to follow the instructions, you can copy it back and retry.
Insert the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx string here. If the AID is valid, it will yield a key that you can now use to decrypt/re-encrypt your game.
Decrypt the game backup by executing the following command in your command line/terminal (make sure you're in the right working directory. On Windows you can open the terminal in the current working directory by typing in cmdin the path bar of the file explorer. Also, if you haven't installed psvimgtools yet, then just place them in the YYYYZZZZZ folder):
psvimg-extract -K YOUR_KEY game/game.psvimg game_dec If done correctly, you should see an output like this:
creating file ux0:pspemu/temp/game/PSP/GAME/YYYYZZZZZ/EBOOT.PBP (x bytes)... creating file ux0:pspemu/temp/game/PSP/GAME/YYYYZZZZZ/__sce_ebootpbp (x bytes)... all done. Download Trinity and copy the PBOOT.PBP file to game_dec/ux0_pspemu_temp_game_PSP_GAME_YYYYZZZZZ/PBOOT.PBP (the files EBOOT.PBP, __sce_ebootpbp and VITA_PATH.txt should exist in this folder). If PBOOT.PBP does already exist there, just overwrite it.
Now re-encrypt the backup similar to above by typing this in your command line/terminal:
psvimg-create -n game -K YOUR_KEY game_dec game If done correctly, you should see an output like this:
adding files for ux0:pspemu/temp/game/PSP/GAME/YYYYZZZZZ packing file ux0:pspemu/temp/game/PSP/GAME/YYYYZZZZZ/EBOOT.PBP (x bytes)... packing file ux0:pspemu/temp/game/PSP/GAME/YYYYZZZZZ/PBOOT.PBP (x bytes)... packing file ux0:pspemu/temp/game/PSP/GAME/YYYYZZZZZ/__sce_ebootpbp (x bytes)... created game/game.psvimg (size: x, content size: x) created game/game.psvmd Remove the game_dec folder (and PSVimg tools if copied here) and select Refresh database in qcma settings.
Now you need to copy back the modified backup to your PS Vita: Launch Content Manager on your PS Vita and connect it to your computer (if it's already open, just go back to the first menu), where you then need to select PC -> PS Vita System, and after that you select Applications. Finally select PSP™/Other and click on the modified game. Perform the copy operation and exit Content Manager.
In the livearea, the game should now have a different icon and should now be called Trinity (eventually you have to rebuild the database in recovery mode to make the bubble change its look). If not, please re-read the instructions more carefully and begin from fresh.
Turn on Wi-Fi, then reboot your device and straightly launch Trinity. Do not do anything else, otherwise the exploit will be less reliable. It is very important that you do not have any running downloads in background.
Enjoy the exploitation process and wait until it launches the Construct. If the exploit fails, simply rerun Trinity.
Within the Construct, select Download VitaShell, then Install HENkaku and finally Exit.
Congratulations, your device is now able to run homebrews. It is highly suggested that you downgrade your device to either firmware 3.60 or 3.65/3.67/3.68 using modoru. On 3.60, you can use HENkaku and on 3.65/3.67/3.68 you can use h-encore. If you don't downgrade your device now, you may lose the ability to launch Trinity later and therefore not be able to hack your device anymore.
    FAQ
    Exploit
"I get the error [TURN ON WI-FI TO USE THIS EXPLOIT]." - Just hold the PS button and turn on Wi-Fi in the quickmenu. "I get the error [EXPLOIT FAILED: 0x800200CB]." - This can sometimes happen. Just rerun the exploit. "My device freezes/panics." - Be sure you do not have any downloads running in background. Also make sure that you do not launch anything else before Trinity. A fresh reboot is always recommended. "Trinity crashes in the second run." - It is not recommended that you launch Trinity multiple times. Always reboot your device before launching Trinity. "Trinity bubble disappeared after downgrading." - Sony prevents you from playing games that have been downloaded from a higher firmware. Therefore, after downgrading, it is hidden. You can redownload the game on your lower firmware and reapply the Trinity patch to make it compatible with your current firmware and higher. HENkaku Settings
"I don't see all folders in VitaShell." - Launch the Settings application and select HENkaku Settings, then select Enable unsafe homebrews. This will grant you full permission in VitaShell. "I can't find the HENkaku Settings." - Launch the exploit and reset taiHEN config.txt and reinstall HENkaku. enso/permanent hack
"Can I install enso on 3.69 or 3.70?" - Not on these firmwares, but you can downgrade to firmware 3.60/3.65 using modoru and then install enso. Credits

  19. Vita HomeBrew Browser

    Prerequisites
    Optional:
PSP2SHELL: automatically send and reload app after compilation, see Running. debugnet: real-time logging that can be viewed from your computer, see Logging. Building
To build VHBB, you'll need to have the vitasdk installed and working.
    Then run the following commands:
mkdir build cd build cmake .. -DDEBUGNET=OFF -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release make -j4 Running
    To run VHBB:
send the generated .vpk to your vita: start an FTP server on your vita, for example VitaShell. upload the vpk to the vita using a FTP client. install the .vpk on your vita using a vpk installer, for example VitaShell. a new folder will be created under ux0:/app/ named /VHBB00001/. You can also use PSP2SHELL in order to send and reload the application easily after compilation:

  20. Vita Launcher

This is a app/game launcher application.
The main purpose of this app is for users who have hundreds of games on their vita.
The psvita has limitation of 500 bubbles only. I couldn't find an app that served me well to manage my library of games so I decided to create my own.
Use in conjuction with the CopyIcons app to get icons not created by psvita.

    Features
Games are groups into multiple categories (vita/psp/homebrew/favorites) including retro consoles like nes,snes,gb,gbc,gba,n64 etc.. Can launch all vita games, Adernaline bubbles and (retro games without bubbles). Has parental control for hiding certain settings. Customize categories via configuration file. Favorites. With hundreds of games, it's takes a quite a while to browse all the pages to find your favorite game. Therefore I've implemented a feature to add a game to you favorites for easy access. Game images loaded on demand. With hundreds of games, we can't possibly load all the game images into memory. So images are loaded on demand only and a few pages of images are cached. Last but not least, you can access you full library of games/apps. Just an FYI, I could load 1600 games/apps on my vita-tv. Controls
up/down/left/right - for browsing your games left analog stick - for browsing your games square - add the selected game to favorites circle - un-select or back. triangle - display settings to switch between Grid/List view. cross - start the selected game/app L-trigger - previous page R-trigger - next page by cy33hc.
  21. Vita Macspoofer

A plugin to spoof your MAC address in the System Information with advanced options
This was more of a fun project for me as hiding one's MAC doesn't make much sense anymore but was quite popular in the PSP days. This will not change your actual MAC address and doesn't spoof it system wide or in your Network obviously!
    Installation
Add macspoofer.suprx to ur0:tai/config.txt under *NPXS10015 and *NPXS10016 Reboot or reload tai config in HENkaku settings Adjust spoofing options under 'Security' Tab in the Settings App Profit!

    Notes
Limited functionality for PSTV users as 'Security' tab doesn't exist. Credits & Thanks

  23. Vita Moonlight

This is a vita port of Moonlight Embedded. Moonlight is an open source implementation of NVIDIA GameStream.
    by xyzz.
  24. Vita Recorder

Vita Recorder is a plugin that allows to record video clips during your play sessions.
The code is based off VITA2PC at which has been applied improvements and the streaming feature has been replaced with file recording.
    current features :
Allows to record clips of unlimited duration (given enough free storage is available). Records clips in RAW mjpeg (can be opened on Windows Media Player and other popular video players as well as can be easily converted to more common formats on PC). Allows to downscale on CPU the output to 480x272 allowing for faster transcoding. Performs hw encoding in MJPEG thanks to sceJpegEncoder when possible. When resources are not enough, libjpeg-turbo is used instead, as fallback, for software encoding. Allows to perform both asynchronous and synchronous recording (The first won't affect game performances but you may end up having some artifacts or some missing frames, the latter will lower game performances but will produce frame perfect clips) Allows to apply frameskip on synchronous recording.
    Controls :
L + Select = Open the Config Menu L + Start = Start/Stop Recording (Shortcut) Triangle = Close Config Menu (when in Config Menu) Output Videos
The output videos can be found in `ux0:data` named as `vid_TITLEID_DATE_TIME.mjpg
These files are raw mjpeg data and can be played with several video players such as ffplay or WMP.
You can also use `ffmpeg` to convert them in more popular MP4 videos with a command like this (Note: This creates videos with fixed 25 fps) : fmpeg -i video.mjpg -pix_fmt yuv420p -b:v 4000k -c:v libx264 video.mp4
    Plans for the futur :
At the time of writing, the plugin is in an experimental stage. Current plan for the future is
Add raw audio recording. Move to AVI container (it would allow to store RAW PCM data for the audio part and MJPEG for the video part.) Create a kernel plugin variant. (udcd_uvc can be used as base, the idea is to allow multiapp recordings) Whenever possible (mostly small homebrew apps due to the high resources requirements), stick to SceLibMp4Recorder for MP4 recording. (AVC+AAC) Known issues :
Using Best or High video quality may result in empty videos being created (That's cause not enough resources are available for the encoder). Games with variable resolution may acy weirdly since there's no internal fixed rescaling and mjpeg doesn't support variable resolution between frames. (eg: Everybody's Golf) Installation
Install VPK files to your PS Vita.
Put VitaRecorder.suprx in your tai folder. Add the plugin under a section for the game you want to use it for (eg `*GTAVCECTY`) in your config.txt file. (Alternatively you can place it under *ALL but some apps may crash with this due to the resources requirements) If you want to use this plugin on commercial games, you'll need to install ioplus as well by adding it in your *KERNEL section in your config.txt. by Rinnegatamante.
  25. Vita Save Manager Plus

    Dump & restore decrypted savefile.
    Configure
Select button in mainscreen will open simple configure screen. Or you can change ux0:data/savemgr/config.inimanually.
If you want to use another dump directory format, current time you need modify ini file.
for example, if you want to use ux0:data/savegames/PCSH00000_SLOT0,
    base=ur0:/data/savegames slot_format=%s_SLOT%d Default ini config is below;
    base=/data/savegames slot_format=%s/SLOT%d list_mode=icon use_dpad=true
